Flying-solo on V-day

Valentine’s Day is a time when love is in the air, and people all around the world are celebrating their romantic relationships. However, not everyone is in a relationship, and that’s okay! Being alone on Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be a downer; in fact, it can be a great opportunity to celebrate yourself and your independence. I think it’s important to note that Valentine’s Day can be one of two things, a day specifically to celebrate love in its entirety. And a day to love yourself in all entirety. So if you’re sitting there with a box of chocolates, eating ice cream and watching a film. GO YOU!! We can make what we want of it and there’s nothing wrong with that.

So for my single Valentine’s who should most definitely celebrate this day, this one’s for you:

  1. Treat YASELF- Buy yourself something special that you’ve been eyeing for a while or take yourself out for a nice dinner. At the end of the day, you deserve it!
  2. Spend Time with Friends and Family! It’s a day of celebrating LOVE not specifically relationships. So what’s better than being around those you love?
  3. Give Back to Your Community Spread the love by volunteering at a local charity or doing something kind for someone in need. I personally advocate for this on all occasions as it’s a feel good feeling.
  4. Indulge in Self-Care Take a relaxing bubble bath, read a good book, or do some yoga. You’ve heard this a million times, so let’s make this the last. YOUR WELL-BEING MATTERS!

Remember, being single on Valentine’s Day is nothing to be ashamed of. Instead, embrace your independence and use the day as an opportunity to celebrate yourself and your unique qualities!
