Knife crime is a serious issue that affects communities all over the United Kingdom. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the number of incidents and victims, leading to fear and concern among the public.
One way to raise awareness about knife crime and its devastating effects is through art. The Knife Angel sculpture is a powerful example of how art can be used to convey a powerful message and spark a conversation about this important issue.
The knife angel sculpture is a 27-foot-tall sculpture created by artist Alfie Bradley. Made entirely out of knives (100,000 to be exact) that have been surrendered to police or collected through amnesty bins, the sculpture is a powerful visual representation of the devastating effects of knife crime.
The sculpture depicts an angel with wings made out of knives, symbolizing the innocent victims of knife crime. The sculpture serves as a reminder of the importance of addressing knife crime, and the role that each individual can play in reducing it. The sculpture is currently visiting Stadium MK, Milton Keynes and it’s available for the public to view.
